Background of PA2G4/EBP1
PA2G4 is an RNA-binding protein that is involved in growth regulation. This protein is present in pre-ribosomal ribonucleoprotein complexes and may be involved in ribosome assembly and the regulation of intermediate and late steps of rRNA processing. The protein can interact with the cytoplasmic domain of the ErbB3 receptor and may contribute to transducing growth regulatory signals. It is also a transcriptional co-repressor of androgen receptor-regulated genes and other cell cycle regulatory genes through its interactions with histone deacetylases. It has been implicated in growth inhibition and the induction of differentiation of human cancer cells.

Fluorescent confocal image of U251 cell stained with PA2G4 Antibody (Center R243).U251 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with PA2G4 primary antibody (1:25, 1 h at 37℃). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor® 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400, 50 min at 37℃).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor® 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidin (7units/ml, 1 h at 37℃). Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (blue) (10 µg/ml, 10 min).PA2G4 immunoreactivity is localized to Cytoplasm significantly and Nucleus weakly.

This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
