Background of KANK2
Involved in transcription regulation by sequestering nuclear receptor coactivators, such as NCOA1, NCOA2 and NCOA3, in the cytoplasm; the function is deregulated by phosphorylation. May be involved in the control of cytoskeleton formation by regulating actin polymerization. Involved in regulation of caspase-independent apoptosis; proposed to sequester AIFM1 in mitochondria and apoptotic stimuli lead to its proteasomal degradation allowing the release of AIFM1 to the nucleus. May be involved in promotion of cell proliferation.

Our lab technicians have not tested anti-KANK2/Ankrd25 antibody A07999 on horse. You can run a BLAST between horse and the immunogen sequence of anti-KANK2/Ankrd25 antibody A07999 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated horse samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in horse liver in IHC, you can get your next antibody for free.

You can see on the product datasheet, A07999 anti-KANK2/Ankrd25 antibody as been validated on IHC. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
