Background of IL-9
IL-9 is a cytokine that acts as a regulator of a variety of hematopoietic cells. This cytokine stimulates cell proliferation and prevents apoptosis. It functions through the interleukin 9 receptor (IL9R), which activates different signal transducer and activator (STAT) proteins and thus connects this cytokine to various biological processes. The gene encoding this cytokine has been identified as a candidate gene for asthma. Genetic studies on a mouse model of asthma demonstrated that this cytokine is a determining factor in the pathogenesis of bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Anti-IL-9 antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cancer and Immunology research.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Anti-Human IL-9 antibody shows detection of a band ~15 kDa in size corresponding to recombinant human IL-9. The identity of the faint higher molecular weight band may represent a homodimer.Molecular weight markers are also shown (left). After transfer, the membrane was blocked overnight with 3% BSA in TBS followed by reaction with primary antibody at a 1:1,000 dilution.Detection occurred using peroxidase conjugated anti-Rabbit IgG (p/n 611-103-122) secondary antibody diluted 1:40,000 in blocking buffer (p/n MB-070) for 30 min at RT followed by reaction with FemtoMax

Question
We are currently using anti-IL-9 antibody A02925 for human tissue, and we are happy with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it possible that the antibody can work on zebrafish tissues as well?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2020-01-09
Answer
The anti-IL-9 antibody (A02925) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with zebrafish tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in zebrafish you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question
Does anti-IL-9 antibody A02925 work on monkey WB with leukocyte?
D. Rodriguez
Verified customer
Asked: 2014-08-26
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-IL-9 antibody A02925 on monkey. You can run a BLAST between monkey and the immunogen sequence of anti-IL-9 antibody A02925 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated monkey samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in monkey leukocyte in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
