Background of BRCA1
This gene encodes a nuclear phosphoprotein that plays a role in maintaining genomic stability, and it also acts as a tumor suppressor. The encoded protein combines with other tumor suppressors, DNA damage sensors, and signal transducers to form a large multi-subunit protein complex known as the BRCA1-associated genome surveillance complex (BASC). This gene product associates with RNA polymerase II, and through the C-terminal domain, also interacts with histone deacetylase complexes. This protein thus plays a role in transcription, DNA repair of double-stranded breaks, and recombination. Mutations in this gene are responsible for approximately 40% of inherited breast cancers and more than 80% of inherited breast and ovarian cancers. Alternative splicing plays a role in modulating the subcellular localization and physiological function of this gene.
Antibody Validation

Assay Dilutions Recommendation
The recommendations below provide a starting point for assay optimization. The actual working concentration varies and should be decided by the user.
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin-fixed) (2-5ug/ml for 60 minutes at RT)(Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes)
Optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined.

Answer
The anti-BRCA1 (Breast Marker) Monoclonal antibody (M00005) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Asked: 2019-12-13
Answer
According to literature cervix carcinoma erythroleukemia does express BRCA1. According to Uniprot.org, BRCA1 is expressed in lung, mammary gland, testis, pns, cervix carcinoma, embryonic kidney, leukemic t-cell, cervix carcinoma erythroleukemia, among other tissues. Regarding which tissues have BRCA1 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues:
Cervix carcinoma, Pubmed ID: 17081983, 18669648, 20068231
