Background of SR1
Sorcin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SRI gene. It is mapped to 7q21.1. This gene encodes a calcium-binding protein with multiple E-F hand domains that relocates from the cytoplasm to the sarcoplasmic reticulum in response to elevated calcium levels. In addition to regulating intracellular calcium homeostasis it also modulates excitation-contraction coupling in the heart. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct proteins. Multiple pseudogenes exist for this gene.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Western blot analysis of SRI expression in rat liver extract (lane 1), rat brain extract (lane 2) and SMMC7721 whole cell lysates (lane 3). SRI at 26KD was detected using rabbit anti-SRI Antigen Affinity purified polyclonal antibody (Catalog # RP1110) at 0.5 μg/mL. The blot was developed using chemiluminescence (ECL) method (Catalog # EK1002).

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-SR1/SRI Antibody Picoband®
Question
We are currently using anti-SR1/SRI antibody RP1110 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on bovine tissues as well?

Answer
The anti-SR1/SRI antibody (RP1110) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with bovine tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in bovine you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
