Background of RND1

Rnd1 is a small (~21 kDa) signaling G protein (to be specific, a GTPase), and is a member of the Rndsubgroup of the Rho family of GTPases. Members of this family regulate the organization of the actin cytoskeleton in response to extracellular growth factors. A similar protein in rat interacts with a microtubule regulator to control axon extension. The RND1 gene is mapped to chromosome 12q12-q13.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

7 Customer Q&As for Anti-RND1 Antibody Picoband®

Question

Will A06347 anti-RND1 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2020-02-14

Answer

It shows on the product datasheet, A06347 anti-RND1 antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question

Would anti-RND1 antibody A06347 work on goat WB with brain?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-09-27

Answer

Our lab technicians have not validated anti-RND1 antibody A06347 on goat. You can run a BLAST between goat and the immunogen sequence of anti-RND1 antibody A06347 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated goat samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat brain in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question

We are currently using anti-RND1 antibody A06347 for human tissue, and we are happy with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse. Is it true that the antibody can work on monkey tissues as well?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-07-08

Answer

The anti-RND1 antibody (A06347) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with monkey tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in monkey you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
