Background of MYO9B
Myosins are actin-based motor molecules with ATPase activity. Unconventional myosins serve in intracellular movements. May be involved in the remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton. Binds actin with high affinity both in the absence and presence of ATP and its mechanochemical activity is inhibited by calcium ions. Also acts as a GTPase activating protein on Rho.

Does A03456 anti-MYO9B/Myosin Ixb antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Answer
It shows on the product datasheet, A03456 anti-MYO9B/Myosin Ixb antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

We are currently using anti-MYO9B/Myosin Ixb antibody A03456 for human tissue, and we are content with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it likely that the antibody can work on dog tissues as well?

The anti-MYO9B/Myosin Ixb antibody (A03456) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with dog tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity.
