Western blot analysis of different tissue lysates using rabbit pAb to laminin, M04965, dilution 1:5,000 in green: [1] protein standard (red), [2] rat brain, [3] rat spinal cord, and [4] cow spinal cord lysate. The strong band above the 280kDa mark corresponds to full length laminin proteins. Smaller proteolytic fragments of laminin are also detected with this antibody.

Immunohistological analysis of brain stem section stained with rabbit pAb to laminin, M04965, dilution 1:1,000 in red, and costained with chicken pAb to Myelin Basic Protein (MBP), dilution 1:5,000 in green. The blue is DAPI staining of nuclear DNA. Following transcardial perfusion of rat with 4% paraformaldehyde, brain was post fixed for 24 hours, cut to 45M, and free-floating sections were stained with the above antibodies. The laminin antibody is an excellent marker of basement membranes surrounding blood vessels, while the MBP antibody stains the myelin sheathes around axons.

Asked: 2019-08-27
Answer
From literature metanephros does express LAMA1. From Uniprot.org, LAMA1 is expressed in metanephros, liver, among other tissues. Regarding which tissues have LAMA1 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues:

Question
Our lab were well pleased with the WB result of your anti-Laminin antibody. However we have observed positive staining in liver extracellular space using this antibody. Is that expected? Could you tell me where is LAMA1 supposed to be expressed?

Question
We are currently using anti-Laminin antibody M04965 for mouse tissue, and we are well pleased with the IHC results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it possible that the antibody can work on monkey tissues as well?
Verified Customer

Asked: 2018-10-09
Answer
The anti-Laminin antibody (M04965) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with monkey tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in monkey you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
