Background of DKC1
Isoform 1:Required for ribosome biogenesis and telomere maintenance. Probable catalytic subunit of H/ACA small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (H/ACA snoRNP) complex, which catalyzes pseudouridylation of rRNA. This involves the isomerization of uridine such that the ribose is subsequently attached to C5, instead of the normal N1. Each rRNA can contain up to 100 pseudouridine ('psi') residues, which may serve to stabilize the conformation of rRNAs. Also required for correct processing or intranuclear trafficking of TERC, the RNA component of the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) holoenzyme.Isoform 3:Promotes cell to cell and cell to substratum adhesion, increases the cell proliferation rate and leads to cytokeratin hyper-expression (when overexpressed in HeLa cells).

7 Customer Q&As for Anti-Dyskerin DKC1 Antibody
Question
Does anti-Dyskerin antibody A01535-1 work on canine WB with layer of synovial tissue?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2019-08-07
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-Dyskerin antibody A01535-1 on canine. You can run a BLAST between canine and the immunogen sequence of anti-Dyskerin antibody A01535-1 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated canine samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in canine layer of synovial tissue in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question
We are currently using anti-Dyskerin antibody A01535-1 for mouse tissue, and we are happy with the IF results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it likely that the antibody can work on dog tissues as well?
A. Wu
Verified customer
Asked: 2017-12-15
Answer
The anti-Dyskerin antibody (A01535-1) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with dog tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in dog you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question
Would A01535-1 anti-Dyskerin antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2017-06-01
Answer
It shows on the product datasheet, A01535-1 anti-Dyskerin antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
