Background of BCL2L11

Induces apoptosis. Isoform BimL is more potent than isoform BimEL. Isoform Bim-a1, isoform Bim-a2 and isoform Bim-a3 induce apoptosis, although less potent than the isoforms BimEL, BimL and BimS. Isoform Bim-gamma induces apoptosis.

Question

Will A01552-1 anti-BIM(Ab-69) antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

S. Evans

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-02-22

Answer

As indicated on the product datasheet, A01552-1 anti-BIM(Ab-69) antibody as been tested on IHC. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
