Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family F member 1 (Plekhf1)

May cause apoptosis through the lysosomal-mitochondrial pathway. Translocates into the lysosome initiating the permeabilization of lysosomal membrane (LMP) and leading to the discharge of CTSD and CTSL into the cytoplasm.

Triggers the caspase- independent apoptosis by altering mitochondrial membrane permeabilization (MMP) leading to the discharge of PDCD8 (By similarity). .
