Facts about Myc target protein 1.
Overexpression seems to mediate a number of the known phenotypic features associated with MYC, including promotion of apoptosis, alteration of morphology, enhancement of anchorage-independent expansion, tumorigenic conversion, promotion of genomic instability and inhibition of hematopoietic differentiation. .

Highly expressed in lung, heart, and skeletal muscle. Expressed in brain, eye, liver, kidney, smooth muscle, pancreas, thyroid, thymus, submaxillary gland, spleen, testis, ovary, prostate, epididymis, and uterus. Deregulated expression promotes apoptosis in response to growth factor deprivation. Overexpression in synergy with CCNB1 may promote genomic instability.
