Proheparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HBEGF)
Required for normal cardiac valve formation and normal heart function. Promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation.
May be involved in macrophage-mediated cellular proliferation. It is mitogenic for fibroblasts, but not endothelial cells.
