Facts about Chromosome transmission fidelity protein 8 homolog.
The CTF18-RFC complex binds to single- stranded and primed DNAs and has weak ATPase activity that is stimulated the presence of primed DNA, replication protein A (RPA) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). The CTF18-RFC complex catalyzes the ATP-dependent loading of PCNA onto primed and gapped DNA.

Ubiquitously expressed, with abundant expression in kidney, skeletal muscle, testis, liver, ovary, and heart and moderate expression in prostate. Expression is significantly reduced in renal and prostate tumors. No differential expression in breast cancer cells, between lobular carcinoma and normal lobules.
Nucleus. Associates with chromatin during S phase.
