Background of TIMP-4
Metalloproteinase inhibitor 4 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the TIMP4 gene. And this gene is mapped to chromosome 3p25. This gene belongs to the TIMP gene family. The proteins encoded by this gene family are inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases, a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. The secreted, netrin domain-containing protein encoded by this gene is involved in regulation of platelet aggregation and recruitment and may play role in hormonal regulation and endometrial tissue remodeling.
Antibody Validation
Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Question
Will anti-TIMP4 antibody PA1078-1 work on feline WB with adipose tissue of abdominal region?
P. Zhao
Verified customer
Asked: 2018-09-18
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-TIMP4 antibody PA1078-1 on feline. You can run a BLAST between feline and the immunogen sequence of anti-TIMP4 antibody PA1078-1 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated feline samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in feline adipose tissue of abdominal region in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
