Western blot analysis of skeletal muscle lysates and His-tagged recombinant human proteins using chicken pAb to parvalbumin, M04041-2, dilution 1:2,000, in green: [1] protein standard (red), [2] mouse muscle, [3] recombinant parvalbumin, [4] recombinant calretinin and [5] recombinant calbindin. Band at 12kDa in muscle lysate is native parvalbumin and 18kDa band in the next lane is His-tagged recombinant parvalbumin. The M04041-2 antibody binds parvalbumin strongly but is not cross-reactive with the closely related calcium binding proteins calretinin or calbindin.

Immunofluorescent analysis of a rat cerebellum section stained with chicken pAb to parvalbumin, M04041-2, dilution 1:2,000, in green, and costained with mouse mAb to GFAP, dilution 1:500, in red. The blue is DAPI staining of nuclear DNA. Following transcardial perfusion of rat with 4% paraformaldehyde, brain was post fixed for 24 hours, cut to 45M, and free floating sections were stained with above antibodies. The M04041-2 antibody labels the perikarya and dendrites of Purkinje cells and interneurons in the molecular layer of the cerebellum. The GFAP antibody stains the processes of Bergmann glia and astrocytes.

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-Parvalbumin Antibody
Question
We are currently using anti-Parvalbumin antibody M04041-2 for rat tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it possible that the antibody can work on goat tissues as well?

Answer
The anti-Parvalbumin antibody (M04041-2) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
