Background of IL-23R

Interleukin 23 receptor is a type I cytokine receptor. IL23R is its human gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a subunit of the receptor for IL23A/IL23. This protein pairs with the receptor molecule IL12RB1/IL12Rbeta1, and both are required for IL23A signaling. This protein associates constitutively with Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), and also binds to transcription activator STAT3 in a ligand-dependent manner.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

4 Customer Q&As for Anti-IL23 Receptor/Il23r Antibody Picoband®

Question

We are currently using anti-IL23 Receptor/Il23r antibody A00607-1 for mouse tissue, and we are well pleased with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says mouse, rat. Is it likely that the antibody can work on bovine tissues as well?

Answer

The anti-IL23 Receptor/Il23r antibody (A00607-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with bovine tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in bovine you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question

We have been able to see staining in mouse natural killer cell t-cell. Are there any suggestions? Is anti-IL23 Receptor/Il23r antibody supposed to stain natural killer cell t-cell positively?

Asked: 2019-07-24

Answer

From what I have seen in literature natural killer cell t-cell does express IL23R. From what I have seen in Uniprot.org, IL23R is expressed in secondary oocyte, natural killer cell t-cell, bone marrow, bone marrow skin, among other tissues. Regarding which tissues have IL23R expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues:
Bone marrow, Pubmed ID: 16372191
Bone marrow, and Skin, Pubmed ID: 15489334
Natural killer cell, and T-cell, Pubmed ID: 12023369

Question

We have tried in the past anti-IL23 Receptor/Il23r antibody for WB on bone marrow in the past. I am using rat, and We want to use the antibody for ELISA next. Our lab want to know about examining bone marrow as well as natural killer cell t-cell in our next experiment. Could give a recommendation on which antibody would work the best for ELISA?
