Western blot analysis of chicken pAb to IBA1, CPCA-IBA1, dilution 1:1,000 in green: [1] protein standard (red) and [2] rat spleen crude homogenate. The band at about 15kDa mark corresponds to IBA1 protein. IBA1 is a relatively minor protein of brain and is much more abundant in spleen, so the 15kDa band is less obvious in CNS lysates.

Rat spinal cord section, stained with CPCA-IBA1, dilution 1:1,000, in red. Microglia are very small cells with fine processes spreading in three dimensions and so are best visualized in a confocal Z stack, see Poster 27. Nuclear DNA is shown with DAPI stain in blue.

5 Customer Q&As for Anti-Human IBA1 AIF1 Antibody
Question
We have been able to see staining in human metanephric glomerulus. Are there any suggestions? Is anti-Human IBA1 antibody supposed to stain metanephric glomerulus positively?

Asked: 2019-12-31
Answer
From what I have seen in literature metanephric glomerulus does express AIF1. From what I have seen in Uniprot.org, AIF1 is expressed in metanephric glomerulus, lymphocyte, glial tumor, prostate, erythroleukemia, liver, among other tissues. Regarding which tissues have AIF1 expression, here are a few articles citing expression in various tissues:
Erythroleukemia, Pubmed ID: 23186163
Glial tumor, Pubmed ID: 14702039
Liver, Pubmed ID: 24275569
Lymphocyte, Pubmed ID: 8912632
Prostate, Pubmed ID: 15489334

Question
We are currently using anti-Human IBA1 antibody M01394-3 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the IF results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it true that the antibody can work on primate tissues as well?

Asked: 2019-07-25
Answer
The anti-Human IBA1 antibody (M01394-3) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with primate tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in primate you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
