Background of GTF3A
Interacts with the internal control region (ICR) of approximately 50 bases within the 5S RNA genes, is required for correct transcription of these genes by RNA polymerase III. Also binds the transcribed 5S RNA's. May initiate transcription of the 5S ribosomal RNA gene and maintain the stability of transcription of other genes.

Question
Would A12790 anti-GTF3A antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Asked: 2019-09-02
Answer
As indicated on the product datasheet, A12790 anti-GTF3A antibody as been validated on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

Question
I was wanting to use your anti-GTF3A antibody for WB for human parotid gland on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been validated for this particular application. Has this antibody been validated and is this antibody a good choice for human parotid gland identification?
D. Baker

Asked: 2017-11-09
Answer
It shows on the product datasheet, A12790 anti-GTF3A antibody has been tested for WB on human tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in human parotid gland in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.

Asked: 2017-08-22
Answer
The anti-GTF3A antibody (A12790) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with bovine tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in bovine you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question
Does anti-GTF3A antibody A12790 work on bovine WB with brain?
P. Krishna
Verified customer
Asked: 2015-03-23
Answer
Our lab technicians have not validated anti-GTF3A antibody A12790 on bovine. You can run a BLAST between bovine and the immunogen sequence of anti-GTF3A antibody A12790 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated bovine samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in bovine brain in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
