Background of GPR35

SmarcAL1 (SWI/SNF-related µatrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin a-like 1) is also known as HARP, HepA Related Protein, HHARP, SMARCA like Protein 1 and SWI/SNF Related. SmarcAL1 is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins. Members of this family have helicase and ATPase activities and are thought to regulate transcription of certain genes by altering the chromatin structure around those genes. The encoded protein shows sequence similarity to the E. coli RNA polymerase-binding protein HepA. Mutations in this gene are a cause of Schimke immunoosseous dysplasia (SIOD), an autosomal recessive disorder with the diagnostic features of spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, renal dysfunction, and T-cell immunodeficiency.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

5 Customer Q&As for Anti-GPR35 Antibody

Question

We are currently using anti-GPR35 antibody A06269 for human tissue, and we are satisfied with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse. Is it possible that the antibody can work on zebrafish tissues as well?

Verified Customer

Asked: 2019-09-30

Answer

The anti-GPR35 antibody (A06269) has not been validated for cross reactivity specifically with zebrafish tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in zebrafish you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question

Does anti-GPR35 antibody A06269 work on feline WB with brain?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-07-24

Answer

Our lab technicians have not validated anti-GPR35 antibody A06269 on feline. You can run a BLAST between feline and the immunogen sequence of anti-GPR35 antibody A06269 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated feline samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in feline brain in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.

Question

Will A06269 anti-GPR35 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Verified Customer

Verified customer

Asked: 2018-12-06

Answer

It shows on the product datasheet, A06269 anti-GPR35 antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.
