Background of GLYCTK
Defects in GLYCTK are the cause of D-glyceric aciduria (D-GA). D-GA is a rare metabolic disease characterized by chronic metabolic acidosis and a highly variable clinical phenotype. Clinical features range from an encephalopathic presentation with seizures, microcephaly, severe mental retardation and early death, to milder manifestations with only speech delay or even normal development. Belongs to the glycerate kinase type-2 family. 7 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Question
Would anti-GLCTK antibody A12308 work on primate WB with liver?
Verified Customer
Verified customer
Asked: 2018-01-29
Answer
Our lab technicians have not tested anti-GLCTK antibody A12308 on primate. You can run a BLAST between primate and the immunogen sequence of anti-GLCTK antibody A12308 to see if they may cross-react. If the sequence homology is close, then you can perform a pilot test. Keep in mind that since we have not validated primate samples, this use of the antibody is not covered by our guarantee. However we have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in primate liver in WB, you can get your next antibody for free.
