Boster Bio Anti-Desmin Monoclonal Antibody (Muscle Cell Marker).

The Boster Bio Antismin (mouse), Monoclonal Antibody reacts to Human, Mouse, and Rat. It is available in various formats, including BSA or without. All antibodies are validated by Boster Bio using Immunofluorescence or WB. This antibody is especially useful in determining if an enzyme is causing a response in a mouse model.

This monoclonal antibody recognizes the desmin protein found in muscle cells. The protein is located near the Z-line in sarcomeres. This antibody can be found in a variety of muscle cells to identify intermediate filaments that belong to the desmin group. It can also be used to detect the presence of desmin within metastatic tumors.

The protein was originally discovered in the glomerulus by Wichmann and Wiche who discovered that it was found in glomerular membranes belonging to various human cell kinds. These studies led to the discovery of desmin in the glomerular slit dialygms. The protein was also detected in the kidneys and lungs of patients suffering from muscular dystrophy and amyloidosis.

ACTN3 is a different protein found in kidneys. While this protein isn't present in all types of fibers but it is heavily expressed in type 2X. It was found to be present in 50 percent of fibers in type 2A through immunofluorescence. It is believed that these fibers hold an important proportion of MYh2 also.

The Boster Bio Anti-Desmin (mouse Cell Marker) Monoclonal Antibodies are produced from the P-31 antigen. This antibody is used to detect the muscle cell marker in vitro. It can also be used in cell culture experiments. These antibodies possess the same antigen-recognition properties as human P31.
