Expressed by neurons in layers 2 and 3 of the cortex during their migration and settling in the cortical plate. Also found in layers 4 and 6a. From E9.5-E13.5, detected in the marginal zone of the developing cortex. At E16.5, modest expression is found in the intermediate zone. At postnatal day 0, evident in the superficial cortical plate. By postnatal day 7, expression is limited to layers 2 and 3 throughout most of the cortex.
