Combination with other markers

There is much debate about the diagnostic utility of osteopontin, which can be used in combination with other markers. OPN is a biomarker for cancer progression and prognosis. However, it has yet to be proven clinically useful. Because multiple markers can have greater diagnostic and prognostic powers than individual markers, this is why it is not yet widely used.
