The sulfotransferase activity on sialyl LacNAc structures is a lot greater than the corresponding desialylated substrate, and only internal Gal residues are sulfated. May function in the sulfation of sialyl N- acetyllactosamine oligosaccharide chains attached to glycoproteins.
