Gastro-Protective Effects of Albizia anthelmintica Leaf Extract on Indomethacin-Induced Gastric Ulcer in Wistar Rats: In Silico and In Vivo Studies

Authors: Nabil, M., El Raey, M.A., Abdo, W., Abdelfattah, M.A.O…
Journal: Antioxidants

We have previously reported that the leaf extract of Albizia anthelmintica exhibited substantial antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic properties in vivo. We also comprehensively characterized the active phytoconstituents and found several flavonoids and galloyl glucosides derivatives. In the current work...

Poly(lactide-co-glycolide) Nanoparticles Mediate Sustained Gene Silencing and Improved Biocompatibility of siRNA Delivery Systems in Mouse Lungs after Pulmonary Administration

Authors: Wu, L., Wu, L.P., Wu, J., Sun, J., He, Z., Rodríguez-Rodríguez, C…
Journal: ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces

Pulmonary delivery of small interfering RNA (siRNA)-based drugs is promising in treating severe lung disorders characterized by the upregulated expression of disease-causing genes. Previous studies have shown that the sustained siRNA release in vitro can be achieved from polymeric matrix nanoparticles based on poly(lactide-co-...

linc-AAM Facilitates Gene Expression Contributing to Macrophage Activation and Adaptive Immune Responses

Authors: Chen, X., He, Y., Zhu, Y., Du, J., & Sun, H.
Journal: Cell Reports

Although various long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are specifically expressed in activated macrophages, their in vivo functions and mechanisms of action are largely unexplored. Here, we identify a long intergenic noncoding RNA associated with activated macrophage (linc-AAM) and elucidate its function and mechanisms. linc-AAM is highly...

Trichostatin A Ameliorates Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Pathology and Cognitive Deficits by Increasing Albumin Expression and Aβ Clearance in APP/PS1 Mice

Authors: Su, Q., Li, T., He, P.F., Lu, X.C., Yu, Q., Gao, Q.C., Wang, Z.J…
Journal: Alzheimer's Research & Therapy

Background: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an intractable neurodegenerative disorder in the elderly population, currently lacking a cure. Trichostatin A (TSA), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, showed some neuroprotective roles, but its pathology-improvement effects in AD are still uncertain, and the underlying mechanisms remain to be...

Novel Nonsecosteroidal Vitamin D Receptor Modulator Combined with Gemcitabine Enhances Pancreatic Cancer Therapy through Remodeling of the Tumor Microenvironment

Authors: Kang, Z., Wang, C., Tong, Y., Li, Y., Gao, Y., Hou, S., Hao, M…
Journal: Journal of Medicinal Chemistry

In a pancreatic tumor microenvironment, activated pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) produce extracellular matrix (ECM) to form a barrier to drug penetration. Moreover, the interaction between cancer cells and activated PSCs promotes the tumor growth. Vitamin D receptor (VDR), as a key regulator to promote the recovery of PSCs to the...
