Background of MED13

Mediator complex subunit 13 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MED13 gene. This gene encodes a component of the mediator complex (also known as TRAP, SMCC, DRIP, or ARC), a transcriptional coactivator complex thought to be required for the expression of almost all genes. The mediator complex is recruited by transcriptional activators or nuclear receptors to induce gene expression, possibly by interacting with RNA polymerase II and promoting the formation of a transcriptional pre-initiation complex. The product of this gene is proposed to form a sub-complex with MED12, cyclin C, and CDK8 that can negatively regulate transactivation by mediator.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

1 Customer Q&As for Anti-MED13 Antibody Picoband®

Question

We are currently using anti-MED13 antibody A04545-1 for human tissue, and we are happy with the ELISA results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse. Is it true that the antibody can work on horse tissues as well?

Answer

The anti-MED13 antibody (A04545-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with horse tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in horse you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
