Background of Cytochrome P450 2C18
Cytochromes P450 are a group of heme-thiolate monooxygenases. In liver microsomes, this enzyme is involved in an NADPH-dependent electron transport pathway. It oxidizes a variety of structurally unrelated compounds, including steroids, fatty acids, and xenobiotics.

Question
Would A07005 anti-Cytochrome P450 2C8/9/18/19 antibody work on parafin embedded sections? If so, which fixation method do you recommend we use (PFA, paraformaldehyde, other)?

Answer
You can see on the product datasheet, A07005 anti-Cytochrome P450 2C8/9/18/19 antibody as been tested on WB. It is best to use PFA for fixation because it has better tissue penetration ability. PFA needs to be prepared fresh before use. Long term stored PFA turns into formalin, as the PFA molecules congregate and become formalin.

We are currently using anti-Cytochrome P450 2C8/9/18/19 antibody A07005 for human tissue, and we are content with the WB results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human. Is it true that the antibody can work on bovine tissues as well?

The anti-Cytochrome P450 2C8/9/18/19 antibody (A07005) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with bovine tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity.
