Background of Chymase/CMA1/Mast Cell Chymase

Chymase is a major secreted protease of mast cells with suspected roles in vasoactive peptide generation, extracellular matrix degradation, and regulation of gland secretion. This gene product is a chymotryptic serine proteinase that belongs to the peptidase family S1. Chymase is mapped to 14q12. It is expressed in mast cells and thought to function in the degradation of the extracellular matrix, the regulation of submucosal gland secretion, and the generation of vasoactive peptides. In the heart and blood vessels, this protein, rather than angiotensin converting enzyme, is largely responsible for converting angiotensin I to the vasoactive peptide angiotensin II.

Antibody Validation

Boster validates all antibodies on WB, IHC, ICC, Immunofluorescence, and ELISA with known positive control and negative samples to ensure specificity and high affinity, including thorough antibody incubations.

Asked: 2019-12-30

Answer

The anti-Mast Cell Chymase/CMA1 antibody (PB9055) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with monkey tissues, but there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in monkey you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.

Question

Can PB9055 detect active, inactive (or both) forms of CMA1?

Verified customer

Asked: 2019-06-21

Answer

Unfortunately, we are uncertain if the Anti-Mast Cell Chymase/CMA1 Antibody Picoband™ (PB9055) detect active, inactive (or both) forms of CMA1. The immunogen sequence is I22-N247 which contains active sites. Our lab hasn't perform relevant tests to validate the detection form of the antibody.
