Nitric oxide synthase, inducible (NOS2)

Produces nitric oxide (NO) which is a messenger molecule with diverse functions throughout the body (PubMed:7531687, PubMed:7544004). In macrophages, NO mediates tumoricidal and bactericidal actions.

Also has nitrosylase activity and mediates cysteine S-nitrosylation of cytoplasmic target proteins such PTGS2/COX2 (By similarity). Included in this iNOS-S100A8/9 transnitrosylase complex involved in the selective inflammatory stimulus-dependent S-nitrosylation of GAPDH on'Cys-247' implicated in regulation of the GAIT complicated activity and likely multiple objectives such as ANXA5, EZR, MSN and VIM (PubMed:25417112).

Boster Bio - Best Uses Of The NOS2 Marker

Boster Bio history

The iNOS protein contains eleven53 amino acids and interacts with several proteins, including FAD, FMN, and 6R-erythro-5,6,7-tetrahydrobiopterin. It is in contact with GAPDH and the SLC9A3R1 transnitrosylase complex. Its primary purpose is to inhibit the NOS transcription factor's activity.

A recent study showed co-expression of CD133 and NOS2 in human glioma tissue. Furthermore, a flow cytometry study showed that more than 90% of NOS2-positive cells also expressed CD133 and confirmed that this marker is also abundant in GSCs. While further studies are required to determine whether NOS2 is associated with the glioma's biology, these findings provide valuable data for the enhancement of GSCs.

While no research has been done to prove that NOS2-directed therapies are used to treat glioma in any way These results suggest that they are safe. GSCs may be inhibited by NOS2-directed drugs, which can make them more effective in treating glioma. The NOS2-directed treatments offer another benefit that they do not interfere with the immune system, which reduces the likelihood of relapse.
