NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur protein 8, mitochondrial (NDUFS8)

Core subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I) that is thought to belong to the minimum assembly required for catalysis. Sophisticated I works in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain.

The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone (By similarity). May donate electrons to ubiquinone.
