Protein Target Info (Source: Uniprot.org)
|Protein Name||Cathepsin L1|
|Tissue Specificity||Both mature cathepsin L1 and procathepsin L are found in the upper epidermis. The lower epidermis predominantly contains procathepsin L. In seminiferous tubules expression is greater at stages VI-VII than at stages IX-XII. .|
|Alternative Names||Cathepsin L1;188.8.131.52;Cathepsin L;Cyclic protein 2;CP-2;Major excreted protein;MEP;Procathepsin L;Cathepsin L1 heavy chain;Cathepsin L1 light chain;Ctsl;Ctsl1;|
|Subcellular Localization||Lysosome .|
|Molecular Weight||37660 MW|
*if product is indicated to react with multiple species, protein info is based on the human gene.
|Protein Function||Important for the overall degradation of proteins in lysosomes. Procathepsin L is required for maximal stimulation of steroidogenesis by TIMP1. .|
|Research Areas||Human, Mouse, Rat

|Background||Cathepsin L is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase with a major role in intracellular protein catabolism. It also shows the most potent collagenolytic and elastinolytic activity in vitro of any of the cathepsins. Cathepsin L has been implicated in pathologic processes including myofibril necrosis in myopathies and in myocardial ischemia, and in the renal tubular response to proteinuria. Human liver cathepsin L consists of a heavy chain of about 25 kD and a light chain of about 5 kD. The gene is mapped to 9q21-q22. Cathepsin L is required for endothelial progenitor cell-induced neovascularization.|

We promise all of our products perform as described in datasheets.
Q: Is your western blot protocol provided from the website applicable for all your antibodies? Keyword: applications, WBA: The protocol is applicable for all our antibodies in WB, the NC Membrane(0.45μm or 0.22μm) and transfer time(70 mins or 50 mins) depends on the protein molecular weight, details can be found in included protocol.
Q: Can I conjugate markers to this antibody? Can I link custom conjugates to this antibody? Keyword: conjugationA: The antibody is stored with BSA and cannot be conjugated with markers. Carrier free antibodies are available upon request. Please contact [email protected]
Q: Can you provide monoclonal antibodies carrier free?A: For most of our monoclonal antibodies, we are unable to provide them carrier free. If you would like to check if a specific antibody can be provided carrier free, please send an email to [email protected]
